Above the Influence

This was by far my favorite project of the year! I believe in what this organization has to say so it made this project mean so much more to me. I wish I had gotten the opportunity to melt the Crayons at the top but Kalee did it already. The hardest part about this project was lining up the projector and fitting the words to our canvas - it was very tedious. My favorite part was making a mistake, but then turning it into something that added to the value of the project. It made me realize that even though that certain step did not turn out how we wanted, we turned it into something that actually looked nice!

Kids Sing America

I loved helping paint this! I'm really not big on free-handing drawings but I seriously enjoy painting! I learned a lot about having a steady hand - it is key. Also doing multiple coats of white paint on a blue background is also necessary. Making the fireworks was my favorite part because we got to use GLITTER!!! The most difficult part about completing the project was the time frame. We wanted to do a lot more with it but with the time constraints, we couldn't.

The Great Doodle

This project was not my favorite. I feel that it turned out pretty well. The hardest part was coming up with a creative design that would work and look good. My coloring of black could have been a little neater but I think the overall design worked. I learned that there are many different types of doodling and there is no limit on the creativeness of a doodle, it's what makes it your own.

Clay Project

I LOVE WORKING WITH CLAY! This project was pretty successful except my salt and pepper shakers needed to be hollowed out a little more. My design worked in this project. After the salt and pepper shaker and my trivet came out of the kiln I was impressed. I loved glazing the projects because I love painting! I learned to be patient when working with clay and to not strive for perfection because it is likely not to work. The most difficult part of this project was getting my salt and pepper shakers to be symmetrical.

Color Wheel

I honestly loved this project!!!! I feel that I did amazing capturing the concept of the color wheel and making it look presentable! Everything worked about this project except my pencil lines show through on some of the lighter colors (yellow, green). If I were to do this project over I would have made lighter lines with my pencil so they would not show through. The most difficult part about this project was coming up with that shape I wanted the outside layer. I learned how to paint without making a complete mess!!

2 pt City

This projects was pretty cool to see come together. I feel that my sketch outline of this piece was good but i probably could have shaded it. The overall look, looks like you are literally standing on a corner looking at this group of buildings. If I would have shaded it it would have made it look even more 3D. If I were to do this project again I would have shaded the buildings and maybe draw building that were not so uniform in shape. The most difficult part about this project was definitely coming up with a creative idea that would be a realistic difficulty level. I learned how to make the sidewalk look realistic by having it thick in the front and then become smaller as it went back to the vanishing point.
